Broadway Kids is a “by audition only” group that is geared towards theatrical performance. The Broadway Kids perform each year in a revue format; they perform a variety of show tunes that are choreographed and staged. Each class meets once a week during the school year to prepare songs for a final performance in May. The show is titled "Kids for Kids."
There are seven Broadway Kids classes, K/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade, 4th/5th grade, Middle School, High School, and by selection only Jr. Company and Company Classes.
Each child must prepare and perform up to 1 minute of a song with a karaoke track. There is also a movement audition for the Middle School and High School classes. Auditions are held yearly in July for the upcoming school year.
Broadway Kids is $80 a month. Both Company classes are an additional $80. If you also take private voice lessons Company is half price.
Every year the Broadway Kids students and instructors chose a children’s charity and present them with the proceeds from their show. The Broadway Kids have raised over $100,000 for children’s organizations throughout the years.
Some of the organizations that have benefited from KIDS FOR KIDS are, The Children’s Shelter of Southern Oklahoma, The Oklahoma School for the Deaf, The Payne Education Institute, The Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma and CASA/Court Appointed Special Advocates.
